(JANUARY 27, 2026) – During his remarks in Clive, Iowa, President Donald Trump reaffirmed his campaign promise to farmers and rural America, calling on congressional leaders to deliver legislation that would allow E15 fuel to be sold year-round nationwide.
“I promised to support E15 all year round if I got elected. I want to let you know, we will start right now,” said President Trump. “And [Congress] will be sending me a bill very shortly supporting year-round E15 to my desk very quickly, and I will sign it without delay.”
The President came to Iowa, the nation’s top corn- and ethanol-producing state to make the announcement.
“I’m standing up for the workers and the farmers of our country… I made new, fair trade deals with countries, scoring giant wins for the farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers like no other president has done.”
In front of an enthusiastic crowd, President Trump highlighted the trade deals he made to increase exports of American-made ethanol.
“Japan will now allow the United States to supply up to 100% of automobile ethanol, and import large amounts of aviation biofuels from the United States…The United Kingdom will import nearly $1 Billion of ethanol,” the President said.
“President Trump has been a steadfast supporter of ethanol and E15 and we applaud him for reaffirming his commitment to our nation’s farmers and biofuel producers,” said Eric Branstad with Fields of Freedom Alliance. “We join his urging of Congress to pass legislation that enables nationwide year-round E15 sales and send it to the President’s desk.”
Under outdated federal law, E15 gasoline is currently blocked from summertime sales in most parts of the United States, robbing consumers of savings at the pump and denying farmers a dependable domestic market for their grain. House leaders have promised a vote on a federal fix for E15 by February 25.
